Module 2

These course courses are prerequisites to receiving a Bachelor of Ministry in Biblical Counseling.

BBC122M2C1 Exchange Life (3 credit hours)
The student is introduced to the "Exchange Life" concept, also known as the "Christ Life." This is one of the most important concepts in the Bible, dealing with one's identity in Christ. It has been said by many preachers and teachers that three things must be "known and applied" to live the successful Christian life: 1) who we are, 2) what we have, and 3) how to appropriate that which we already possess. That is the thrust of this lesson.

EDU260M2C2 Early Child Development Theories Types of Developmental Milestones (3 credit hours)
This course will examine infant & toddler care both in center and home-based settings. The developmental theory of very young children will be the grounding framework for exploring issues of environment, scheduling, programming, staffing, parental relationships, child guidance, health, safety and regulatory guidelines. Students will observe an infant and a toddler throughout the semester and participate in a toy making workshop. The work of important theorists, researchers and clinical practitioners will be included.

Ethics in Leadership (3 credit hours) - Buy the book here
Leadership Ethics highlights the importance of fidelity, integrity, and value-based decision making. Contemporary ethical issues in church, community, and ministry leadership are examined from a biblical perspective. This course explores the sources, methods, disputes and insights of Christian ethics. Ethics, also known as moral philosophy, is a branch of philosophy that involves systematizing, defending, and recommending concepts of right and wrong behavior. Major areas of study in ethics include: Meta-ethics, about the theoretical meaning and reference of moral propositions and how their truth values (if any) may be determined; Normative ethics, about the practical means of determining a moral course of action; Applied ethics, about how moral outcomes can be achieved in specific situations.

CC402M2C4 Crisis Counseling (3 credit hours) - Buy the book here.
The world we live in, because of the influence of sin, is filled with problems. When crises happen, whether by "accident" or design, they cause severe disruption to our lives. It is an inherent quality of ministry to be able to effectively minister to those in crisis times. This course offers both a biblical and family systems conceptualization of family pathology. Students will gain an understanding of the etiology and maintenance of family pathology. Topics considered in this course include styles of family interaction, family boundaries, roles and family life cycle.
